The music was super fun! Some great melodic choices and it’s a greate homage to the time period.
What I didn't like
The staging overall felt a bit static, but I understand that there’s only so much one can do in a smaller performance space. I also felt like the pacing overall was rushed. I would have loved more time spent in some of the quieter and softer moments.
Additionally, this cast is not just full of great individual singers, but the few moments of harmony we get throughout the show were especially wonderful! It made me want more of it,and ultimately disappointed that it wasn’t there. I think adding more vocal content and life to the score will do great things for this piece.
My overall impression
One Up: The Musical does just as it’s name implies – it gives everyone who watches it some extra life! This show is pure fun and good vibes and makes for a great night out.
