This show is pure musical magic. From the first moment to the final bow, One Up the Musical bursts with charisma, wit, and electric performances. Mary Bonney is hilarious, commanding, and a total joy to watch. Every scene hit — whether I was doubled over laughing or grinning ear to ear. An absolute must-see.

Only that I couldn’t hit “rewind” and experience it again immediately.
My overall impression
One Up the Musical is a laugh-out-loud, theatrical joyride. Created and produced by the immensely talented Mary Bonney and Weslie Lechner — this show is a living, breathing example of what happens when heart meets hustle. The direction, pacing, and comedic timing were all dialed in, with every transition seamless and the production value was next level.
The entire cast know exactly how to hold a room, and every character embodied both sharp and delightfully absurd in the best way. And let’s talk about Eric Olsen. He’s a scene-stealer through and through: adorable, hysterical, and with timing that had the whole audience howling. Honestly, every cast member brought such fire to the stage — they were locked in and clearly having just as much fun as we were.
What really stood out was the rhythm of the whole thing. It’s hard to pull off something this funny while keeping it polished, but they nailed it. The choreography and vocal were spot-on. The entire energy of the show was off the charts.
If you’re looking for an unforgettable Fringe experience that leaves you buzzing, this is it. Go. Laugh. Sing along in your head. And then tell everyone you know they need to go too.
