What I liked
I came in with the lens of “This group only had a few days to put this together” but whatever predetermined belief I had was surpassed. I liked the quick nature of this style; Shakespeare wrote no subtext and the actors performed it in such a way that was easy to understand. I liked the fight choreography and how all parts of the stage was used.
What I didn't like
I really wish Mercutio’s Queen Mab monologue made the cut.
My overall impression
Very enjoyable experience with fantastic performances and good direction! I came into this wanting to dislike it, thinking Shakespeare deserves months if not years of study, yet what Colleen has crafted should be shared with more performers and lovers of theater.
