I loved the casting of the characters. I love the different sound effects with the music and the baby crying. The story being told about a cheating husband had a unique twist that wasn’t sensationalized in a way to make it seem like his sexuality was a bad thing only his cheating. It was acted really well and kept me engaged throughout the whole story. I liked that they used regional accents for the characters. I liked the use of blood and tears to make the acting more realistic.
I liked the wardrobe styling.
What I didn't like
Nothing about the acting was lacking for me. Although I do wonder why Brian and Vanessa had no idea Martha had a son. Was that because she hit it from them? Or was it because it was a made-up story? The only thing I would change is the curtain in the middle kept exposing when actors were walking from opposite parts of the stage, and you could see the tag on the back of the curtain, which was distracting. It was also distracting seeing the white price tags on the back of the framed photo on the table. Other than that, everything was executed very flawlessly!
My overall impression
I really enjoyed this unique story. The fact that there was some mystery surrounding the story of the rich man kind of made me think that it was going to be like a murder mystery or potentially even a tragedy or a horror. I was pleasantly surprised to see the camaraderie between Vanessa and Wilhemina come about towards the end especially with Willa helping Vanessa understand she may be going through postpartum symptoms after having the baby. I’m really glad nothing tragic happened to the baby and that Willa didn’t run off with the husband in the end. Plotted out story that I would love to see a second part of , perhaps a prequel .
