The structure was tight, the pacing flowed naturally, and the tone stayed consistent throughout. It felt like every scene had a purpose—building tension, revealing secrets, or deepening character relationships. You could tell there was intentionality in how the story unfolded.
What stood out most to me was how the play allowed the characters to breathe and exist in complicated emotional spaces. It didn’t rush to resolve their conflicts or tie things up neatly. Instead, it gave the audience space to sit with the messiness of love, betrayal, and loneliness. That made the world feel lived-in and real....

I really enjoyed this unique story. The fact that there was some mystery surrounding the story of the rich man kind of made me think that it was going to be like a murder mystery or potentially even a tragedy or a horror. I was pleasantly surprised to see the camaraderie between Vanessa and Wilhemina come about towards the end especially with Willa helping Vanessa understand she may be going through postpartum symptoms after having the baby. I’m really glad nothing tragic happened to the baby and that Willa didn’t run off with the husband in the end. Plotted out story that I would love to see a second part of , perhaps a prequel ....

The actors did a great job at embodying their characters and the time period. I was truly transported into the setting of a riveting (and very well told) story. With just one set, it can be difficult to show a bigger picture, but Wilhelmina proved it can be done....

Overall, this show was well done. The performances brought the story to life and the set was nicely designed. The costumes added the right touch for the period. There's potential for this piece, once given more time and space to breathe. It could benefit from tightening it up and more attention to other details. ...

Wilhelmina, although written in the past couple years, has the tonal and atmospheric feeling of a great American classic play. A glimpse into a Virginian home in the 1950s filled with dysfunction, newcomers, and a whole lot of emotional trauma.
The actors are dialed in, grounded in their circumstances, and breathe great life into the characters. Cheyenne Washington, in the titular role (AND playwright) graces the stage with damaged elegance, perfectly honest for Wilhelmina. Her shared chemistry with star-caliber actor, Tanner Hake, is intense and sultry. Hake, in the role of Mr. Brayson Ashford, is comparable to a stick of dynamite on stage. Brooding strength, conniving intelligence, and unpredictable in his actions.
This production a...
