About the Project
This one act musical Is the story of how I encountered my Viking ancestor while on a mushroom trip. In 2022 when I was going through an anxious, depressed period, my tech bro roommate gave me a bar of mushroom chocolate. He said it would help me feel more peaceful, and “at one“ with God in the universe. Instead, I looked into the mirror and encountered an angry ghost trapped in my family‘s DNA for 1200 years. He had a perspective on everything, from my house to my cat to my relationships to my job. For an afternoon, I couldn’t get away from him, but ultimately the contrast of our life philosophies helped us both. Through a combination of lyrical alt rock songs, dialogue and puppets, this 50 minute (or thereabouts) existential musical comedy will ask the big questions, stare into the void, and wrap the audience in a big hug all without taking itself too seriously.
