Ben's Viking Trip

What I liked

The writing felt so dang strong and nailed the timing of all the jokes. I was expecting to laugh, but not expecting to laugh so hard I’d become light headed, nor expecting to be on the verge of tears during the emotional beats. His writing contained poignant messages to the theme while also containing ear worm melodies. Everything combined made this such a pleasurable viewing experience.

What I didn't like

I wish this were just slightly longer to give more time for some characters, Ben in particular. I feel like he is put aside for the middle of the show and would like to see more of him. I also really wish I could use this in a full production with microphones and additional instruments.

My overall impression

I absolutely loved this show!! Ben lays all of his insecurities bare in this performance and writing, and accompanies it with catchy songs, witty writing, and relatable characters that leave a lingering impression. I hope I get a chance to see this again because one hour was not enough and I want more.
