it was so much fun and so inventive. brilliantly executed: a simple premise, explored in all kinds of cool directions. from the moment you walk into the space – you’re pulled into their story. Jeffrey Johnson is pure heart – Ann Noble’s a master class in clown work and physical communication, they’re both such dexterous storytellers, and they play so beautifully together – they’re so magical to witness and their connection is enchanting – these characters are so rooted and fleshed out – both funny and vulnerable – the stakes are clear and high, the show is playful and bounces easily between light and dark, you know instantly who they are, and at the same time, are so compelled to want to discover more and more about them – and entrancingly, those discoveries keep coming in rich, creative ways. love the music. love the dancing. love the story, love their character work, love the relationship. love them. simply, really REALLY well done.
What I didn't like
more shows. run forever.
…actually, would love to see this developed into a 3 act play.
My overall impression
I love this show. Beyond Words. Ann Noble and Jeffrey Johnson make a brilliant team. A master class in physical story telling. And so much heart.
