Yousaf is a rare and NATURAL storyteller. He doesn’t need any videos or photos to transport you back to the time and place of his adolescence. His tactfully-detailed writing and engaging performance are all that is necessary.

My overall impression
“Natural Born Citizen” is a show that sticks with you. A true testament to the power of minimalist storytelling shows, Yousaf takes you on an hourlong journey through his upbringing with no props, no costumes, and a set consisting of only two blocks (because that’s all he needs). Punctuated with 2000’s pop-punk jams, the show is hilarious, profound, nostalgic, and completely compelling from beginning to end. I feel genuinely lucky that I got to witness Yousaf’s story in this show, and you would be lucky to experience it yourself. Go see this show!
