Sahar and Edward played their characters so well, and without giving it away, I will say that ending made me feel everything. It was deeply moving, the heart of this story, the meat, maybe the yolk? It’s worth staying up all night with this couple to get there.
What I didn't like
Nothing to add here.
My overall impression
There is a comfortable familiarity to the couple Eamon and Shaparak from the moment we first see them on stage. In the course of a night as they stay awake awaiting the Persian New Year, Nowruz, when they will call Shaparak’s mother in Iran at 3 in the morning, we hear them talk of their cultures, but also more mundane and sometimes silly topics such as farts, backgammon, and George of the Jungle 2. We learn that Shaparak is a woman of many words, and Eamon a man who prefers fewer. They talk, playfully banter, and occasionally fight about the small things. It is exactly this that sets the pace for the story, and makes the characters so believable and lovable.
