Just like Green Gartside (lead singer of the band, Scritti Politti), Tabatha Myers is one-of-a-kind. In her solo show, How Do I Hold It?, Myers recounts a childhood fraught with medical ailments, issues being believed, and a platter of Jesus-Saves all your worries. Raised as a bi-racial child, music becomes a source of passion and escape. However, then, the unimaginable happens on an overseas trip to see and hear her favorite band play. Horrifically assaulted by a stranger, Myers grapples with a hodgepodge of coping mechanisms. Some of these range from collecting reptiles, to seeing inappropriate therapists who encourage penis descriptions. Myers opts to move from her hometown state of Pennsylvania to California to start fresh. While s... full review

Such an amazing show! Tabatha's performance was inviting, vulnerable, brave and delightfully comedic. It's like an intimate peek inside someone's brain as they give you a tour of their experiences, opening themselves up for us to learn and grow. It's not preachy but it did feel spiritual - a very multi-layered show with space to laugh, cry, grit your teeth in anger and then repeat all the steps again and again. Can't wait to see how this develops!... full review

How Do I Hold It? is brave and vulnerable. As Tabitha unfolds the experience of assault, she described many feelings that are all-too-familiar — not just internally, but how it can spider outwards to the people who should be your supports. This is a powerful show and I applaud her for sharing her story with grace, openness, and humor.... full review

The audience left the theatre in a kind of reverent awe. I felt deeply stirred not by spectacle, but by something far more dangerous: truth. In a Fringe landscape often ruled by romp and frenzy, this piece stood still and let itself be seen. No extras. No distractions. Just heart. The storytelling was deceptively simple, like opening a locked door and letting us gently look in. It felt like an unpacked confession that stayed with me for hours. A subtle reminder that sometimes, our truth, held with care, is more than enough. ... full review
