What I liked

Beautiful balance of character commitment and winking acknowledgment of the performance without straying into camp. Great performances all around, including understudy Grace Stockdale stepping in as Camillo in the performance I saw. Shelley Regner’s Napoleon was a pitch perfect (sorry, but she was) comic foil to Stockdale and to writer Shannon Corbeil as the vibrant, vulnerable, fierce, conflicted titular sister. Sarah J. Eagen as the maid Helewise was tasked with most of the asides to the audience, providing historical footnotes and calling out ironic contemporary parallels with deadpan timing. In concept and execution the audience participation segments were brilliant. Altogether a splendid production.

What I didn't like

The only improvement would be to do Fringe Encore performances so that more people can experience and enjoy this show.

My overall impression

They say that tragedy is easy and comedy is hard, but you would not guess it from the clever writing and delicious performances presented here. A thoroughly enjoyable and thought-provoking hour.
