What I liked

The quote that is displayed at the end of the show really resonated with me. “Home. It’s not a place. It’s a state of being and belonging. And you can go there anytime you want.” Ain’t that the truth. So beautiful. The lyrical composition is stunning. The songs play of truth, honesty, love, loss, humor and heart, all the while never waivering from the center of the piece. Also, a dazzling ensemble to watch and listen to.

My overall impression

With a magical blend of touching lyrics, sincere storytelling and a dynamite ensemble, Bless Your Heart is a musical I can’t wait to see again. The songs stick with you after the first listen (360 or 180 hit right home with me), and Barri Hollander has created a captivating world of heart, hilarity and soul. I left wanting more, and I think that’s the best part about this piece, because I simply can’t wait to see Bless Your Heart in its entirety and the complete songbook. I absolutely LOVED what I saw in yesterday’s performance! Bravo to all involved!
