What I liked

The last scene of the play delivered in a very cheeky meta manner that I’ll remember. I also think the entire play could actually be focused on the playwright’s conversation with his old friend who became far right radicalized as it was the best scene of the entire play.

What I didn't like

The narrator device was completely unnecessary as it halted any flow the show would have. While the scenes provided a general context of the playwright’s life, they did not connect well with each other and overall presented a Mixed Asian American 101 feel that made this play feel very dated. I also do think Stan Zhu should have played Didi the entire way through.

My overall impression

An amusing yet uneven meta autobiographical play about being a mixed Asian.
