The cast was fantastic, fully fleshing out their characters through vignettes that take place over decades. The playwright was an actor and also a sort of narrator, appearing before/after scenes to offer some perspective on the scenes. This added a personal and almost improvisational feeling, which was refreshing in an ensemble stage play. The material was searingly honest, at times painful and funny (sometimes both at the same time!). Go see this show!

My overall impression
Strong ensemble piece about growing up asian – and mixed-race – in rural America. It’s often challenging, and always honest.
