Rachael Myers and Bryan McKinley delivered truly standout performances. Their timing, spontaneity, and connection kept the audience fully engaged throughout. Rachael’s seamless shifts between Vanda and Wanda were nothing short of mesmerizing, showcasing incredible range and control. The direction by Amir Korgany was equally strong—precise, playful, and full of heart. I especially appreciated how the production managed to feel so in-the-moment, as if the actors were discovering the story right alongside us. It was smart, funny, and emotionally resonant.
What I didn't like
Honestly, very little. If anything, continuing to lean into those playful, spontaneous beats—where the tension and humor live side by side—could make the experience even richer. The production already does a wonderful job of this, and further embracing those moments could elevate the dynamic between the characters even more.
My overall impression
Venus in Fur was a captivating and refreshingly alive piece of theatre. The chemistry between the actors and the direction made for a performance that felt immediate and electric. It struck a beautiful balance between humor, depth, and unpredictability—an experience that was both entertaining and thought-provoking from start to finish.
