Blown away: this is a must see. “Venus in Fur” is a complex, multi layered piece that requires strong performances from the two actors and detailed, expert direction. This production has it in rewarding spades. Director Amir Korangy brings all his vast experience to bear; keeping the story flowing and ratcheting the intensity while finding moments of hilarity, shock, surprise, unease and reveal. His pacing is spot on; his staging elegant yet simple. Bryan McKinley as Thomas the playwright and Rachael Meyers as Vanda the actress, are worthy opponents in this extraordinary tug of erotic war. Both transform into the various versions of their characters with quicksilver facility. Both inhabit their roles with verve and commitment. GO!
