Both sexy and empowering, with smart humor that gives the audience a lot to ponder. Bryan and Rachael are outstanding in their roles with excellent onstage chemistry as they argue, plead, and playfully banter. Rachael moves seamlessly between the role of the actress auditioning, and the character she is auditioning to play, with completely different accents and body language....

What a knock-out of a show! It’s always a good choice to bet on a David Ives play, but only when you have the talent to back it up. And, man, did this production prove itself! First off, the play was carried by Rachel Meyers, a total stand out talent. She commanded, not only the stage, but commanded the comedy like I’ve rarely seen. I imagine Meyers to be the exact actor which David Ives himself had dreamt up for the role - an absolute divine match. She nailed each joke that was written and even added more humor by her unique and natural delivery on lines that may not have gotten a laugh were it played by someone else. Both she and her co-star Bryan McKinley had such grasp of character it made for an effortless watch. McKinley was the ideal ...

Every moment of Venus in Fur is electric! It is a smart, witty and, at times, hilarious journey into sexual desire and serious games of submission and domination... in all its mouthwatering manifestations!
Rachael Meyers and Bryan McKinley are sensational! Together, they have us all questioning how far these characters will go to get what they want. We know from the start these are incredibly experienced artists who masterfully tell the story while deliciously enjoying every twist and turn along the way.
Director Amir Korangy clearly understands the rhythm and temperature of the entire piece while utilizing every inch of the stage....

Go!; must see; best of fringe
Blown away: this is a must see. "Venus in Fur" is a complex, multi layered piece that requires strong performances from the two actors and detailed, expert direction. This production has it in rewarding spades. Director Amir Korangy brings all his vast experience to bear; keeping the story flowing and ratcheting the intensity while finding moments of hilarity, shock, surprise, unease and reveal. His pacing is spot on; his staging elegant yet simple. Bryan McKinley as Thomas the playwright and Rachael Meyers as Vanda the actress, are worthy opponents in this extraordinary tug of erotic war. Both transform into the various versions of their characters with quicksilver facility. Both inhabit their roles with verve and commitment. GO! ...
