Gonna be thinking about this show for a while! Laurie’s a masterful storyteller, and I was completely blown away. My jaw was on the floor multiple times, only for it to be picked back up so I could laugh hard at the next insane reveal. THIS WAS FANTASTIC. Laurie is such a skilled storyteller. The audience was taken care of the whole time and entertained, duh. I loved how she was in control. There are many solo shows where the person starts to trauma dump, and you're left there watching like "oh they are working it out in front of me...eep." This did not happen with Laurie. She had the time, self-reflection, and healing to be able to process and discuss her story. I applaud her. Plus, I was enthralled, the time zoomed by. Well done!... full review

Wow!! This is a MASTERPIECE! It's the kind of show you text your friends about immediately after because you’re so blown away by it. Laurie handled her very unnerving story with incredible skill, finesse and comedic timing. Besides being a great performer, she is truly an excellent writer - selecting riveting and hilarious details to build character and move her story along. The audience was stunned and emotionally engaged throughout. In fact, a guy in my show kept muttering “Oh my god! Oh my god!” through the entire show.... full review

"Do You Accept These Charges?" is the best storytelling show I've seen at the festival thus far! It's one of those rare, special shows that only happens when an artist who has lived an absolutely wild experience ALSO has the ability to tell the story exceptionally well. To find so many moments of levity and self-awareness within such a raw and vulnerable piece is not easy to do, and Laurie does so effortlessly. I went to this show on a whim, having never heard of it and knowing nothing about it and WOW! One of my favorites of the fringe! Laurie is hilarious. She knows how to tell a story. Not only can she tell a story, but she can tell a story about what could be a very uncomfortable subject matter and make it warm and funny. You end up somehow rooting for her the whole time even though you probably shouldn't because she's just so damn charming. She's honest, willing to laugh at herself, and talks to her audience like they are her best friend.... full review
