What I liked
Laurie shifts back and forth from storyteller addressing the audience to her past self interacting with the characters of her story with expert fluidity. The whole piece feels so cohesive, which made me feel very taken care of as an audience member. I was captivated the whole time!

My overall impression
“Do You Accept These Charges?” is the best storytelling show I’ve seen at the festival thus far! It’s one of those rare, special shows that only happens when an artist who has lived an absolutely wild experience ALSO has the ability to tell the story exceptionally well. To find so many moments of levity and self-awareness within such a raw and vulnerable piece is not easy to do, and Laurie does so effortlessly. If you have the chance to see this show, do it!
