I absolutely loved this show! This is by far one of the best adaptations of The Time Machine I have seen. The writing, the acting, the costuming, the sound effects, and the puppets! All were fantastic. I brought my family and my kids thoroughly enjoyed it as well. The Time Machine is a nuanced, well-written, and beautifully performed story. The cast are each very believable in their roles, with very distinct voices. Jessica Martin as "The Time Traveler" was a standout. Benjamin Burns has created beautifully crafted puppets, which are a show in and of themselves. And Benjamin McFadden not only wrote a very timely re-imagining of the story, but gave the characters true lives on stage. ... full review

This show was a joy from start to finish. All the actors involved embodied their characters perfectly, and really made me believe we were in late 1800s England. One of the best parts about this show, is the devilishly creative use of storytelling, lights, set, and PUPPETS! My God! The puppetry was beyond exquisite! I found myself caring for these puppets as if they were the actors themselves. Everyone breathed so much life into them that they felt real. What a immensely immersive and surprising adaptation. The Time Machine is bold, inventive, and just plain fun. This gender-bent, ensemble-driven take on the classic sci-fi novel breathes new life into the story, while also tossing in a few modern winks around class, power, and control. It’s part period drama, part dystopian adventure, part puppet fever dream and somehow it all works. The lighting and sound design during the time travel sequences were especially cool, as was the slow-mo time warp at the beginning. The cast’s popcorn-style narration kept the pace moving and the energy high.
