What I liked
The strong cast of women and non-binary actors was powerful and relatable. I felt like I was watching real people, not characters.
The relationship between Andi, Milo, and Mom was especially beautiful, but the entire ensemble was amazing.
What I didn't like
I feel like the sound levels could have been a bit stronger. Since the playlist is an important component in setting the time period, I would have liked to have heard the songs more.
My overall impression
“Girl Blood (a period piece)” is a funny and touching exploration of the pre-teen/ teen years and all of the confusion, fear, and adventures that they hold – for both the teens and their mothers.
