What I liked

I found myself laughing one moment, holding back tears the next, and sharing meaningful and awe-struck glances with strangers in the audience who were clearly just as moved. It’s a rare thing to feel such genuine connection—not only with the artist but with the entire room.

What I didn't like

The whiteboard notecard was picked up so carefully that I knew it was a trick before it had the chance to surprise me

My overall impression

“Do BETTER” is raw, hilarious, deeply moving, and brimming with unexpected magic (literally and emotionally). It’s a beautifully crafted exploration of grief and identity, tracing the journey of losing a parent as a child and the way that loss ultimately shapes a person.
What makes this show so unique is the way Izzy weaves dark humor with stunning magic tricks that aren’t just clever—they’re profoundly symbolic and often breathtaking. Every illusion feels purposeful, not just in awe factor but in emotional resonance. The result is a deeply personal narrative that somehow becomes universal.

Izzy’s show is a testament to the power of vulnerability, storytelling, and unexpected beauty. It’s one of those performances that stays with you long after the lights come up. A must-see.
