Ah, the irony - how could a one man show be a duet? Obvious - you portray the character's story from the point of view of the left brain and the right brain. Very novel idea, and they pulled it off in spades!
This show was witty, fun, warm and thought-provoking as our main character Tim tells his life story through the "eyes" of the two sides of his brain.
Well done and most deserving of your support - see this show!...

The comedic timing and precision of their choreography...yes, choreography...was really great! I don't know if I can call this show "light-hearted" but it was definitely a comedy. And a really funny one at that. If you want to see something that will make you laugh for an entire hour. This is the show to see. ...

This is officially the first show I have been to as a part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival, and it was a wonderful introduction! The show kept me engaged and laughing the whole hour (fifty minutes?).The chemistry between Mark and TJ is the best part of the show, which is filled with hilarious moments- many of which had me wondering if they were scripted or improv, because except for one specific section, it was nearly impossible to tell. This show is "pay what you can", and is more than worth whatever you will probably end up giving (just sayin')- so unless you are a laughter-and-fun-hater, you have no excuse- go see it!...

Yep. Loved it. These two gents made me laugh and applaud and grin sheepishly for a solid 60 minutes. I even got to punch one of the actors halfway through the show. Boom. Quickly on I found myself completely seduced into rooting for both characters, and their relationships with each other and the "whole" aka Tim. The story was hilariously unimportant, mostly about an average dude who can't get his sh*t together but that's what made me love it even more, that these two crazy halves of a joe shmoe are SO invested in telling when they deem to be the most important story of their lives. And successfully, as we find out.
2 grinning thumbs up. See this show and choose a front row seat. ...

If there ever was a show at The Hollywood Fringe for dudes and bros, One Man Show: A Duet would be it! This hilarious and inventive new comedy by Joe DeSoto and TJ Marchbank is much in the style of Superbad or Knocked Up with all of its stoner humor. Mark Jacobson, who gave a scene stealing performance as the Left side of the brain (among other small roles), even reminded me a bit of Jonah Hill. While at times the script seemed to me a little at odds with the characters (e.g. The Right side behaving at times objective and analytical), the chemistry between Marchbank and Jacobson was divine! The audience participation and dance breaks made for a very entertaining night as well....

One of the most enjoyable ways to spend an hour, One Man Show: A Duet is all at once charming, heartwarming, and hilarious. Actors Mark and TJ play expertly off one another while Joe Desoto's direction is wacky and engaging. Truly a must-see for theater and comedy fans!...

A high energy exploration of the life of a slacker named Tim through two actors playing his right and left brain. I laughed out loud the whole show from the fully committed zany performances of TJ Marchbank & Mark Jacobson and the clever writing of Joe DeSoto. TJ and Mark are so engaging and so in tune with the audience and each other that it's a real delight to watch them unfold this story....

This show was different than anything I've ever seen, and made me laugh harder than most things I've seen in a long while. So brilliantly written - witty, thoughtful, and original - and perfectly directed and performed. The actors are both engaging, quick, hilarious and charismatic - and they play off each other so well. My only regret is that the play didn't have a longer run so I could bring others... Hopefully it will have a revival?! ...

I've been impressed by Joe DeSoto's work as an actor, director and writer since I knew him at USC. This play is clever, biting and really, really entertaining. TJ and Mark gave stellar performances as different halves of the hero, "Tim." Having never seen TJ in anything before I was thoroughly impressed with his deadpan comedic ability and timing. Mark has blossomed into a fantastic, well-rounded character actor who I look forward to keeping up with in the future. Kudos!...
