My overall impression

This show is a non stop thrill. You would expect a great show with Michael Shaw Fisher’s hilarious lyrics and catchy music in joint forces with Michael Teoli’s full and rich orchestrations and rocking live band led by the ringmaster general himself, Pat Towne. What you get instead is an amazeballs show with some of LA Theatre’s most talented performers and vocalists. Talent I was introduced to through this production for the first time was Laura Sperazza, who is rock goddess whom I am now a forever fan of. She goes from the cute 12 1/2 year old Regan… no Megan… no wait… is it Laura… to the embodiment of Janis Joplin meets Pink. Curt Bonnem and his multiple memorable characters are not surprisingly hilarious and versatile but also heart felt and smooth during his rendition of “Whiskey and Banter”. Jesse Merlin’s hip hop priest with a lead in by yet again Curt Bonnem as one of his many characters evolved to a rap preacher as the show progresses. Sarah Chaney is a powerhouse in every song she graces. She plays the very believable Hollywood ‘movie star with the F&%# up Kid’. Favorite moments… Laura’s backbend upside down walking like megan does down the stairs in the movie… the Pantages’ production of ‘Your Mother Sucks C@#&$ in Hell’ and the Pea Soup projectile vomit with the “diva” Anna Bowen… as weel she should be. And last, one of the most catchy tunes in the whole show performed by non other then Jimmy Swan… his controversial suicide lament ‘The Longest Suicide Song Ever Written (10 Steps Before I Jump)’.

DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW… and above everything else… before you attend.. MAKE PEACE WITH YOUR DEMONSMAKE PEACE WITH YOUR DEMONS!!!
