I was leaving four clowns last night, and this company gave me a flyer and told me to stay to see this show for $5. I didn't know anything about it, but I figured "Hey, a mainstage show for $5? why not!" So I decided to stay and watch. I have no idea what happened within the next the hour, but I was taken on a magical journey, that kept my attention for the entire hour. I can't say what the show was about, because that would require a discussion with other audience members, but it was incredible to watch, and was a brilliant display of how theatre can be more than just a story with words. Kudos to all involved. I highly advise this show be seen. And for a $5 flyer special, its completely worth every penny!... full review

Lemon Boots is a fun, beautiful, and sometimes even touching piece of physical theatre. The ensemble is strong and the images they create together are stunning. That being said, the piece wants for something. Whether it's a storyline or simply a central theme to go off of, there is undeniably an element the piece lacks. The combination of the music and striking images is already delightful but with the addition of some sort of emotional connection, a character to care for, a storyline to follow or something similar, the piece could blow audiences away. I went with an open mind, really hoping to love this show. I was very disappointed. Besides frequently yelling at me to get out of my seat, the dancers never did anything impressive. It was like going to a high school recital. The dancers were enthusiastic, but far from professional.... full review

I am going to see this show again tonight. I need to see it more than once because it left such a big imprint on me, that I need to see it again. I came up with my own ideas for what this was after the first time I saw it, so I want to see it again to see if I have the same reactions. Lemon Boots is a great show and fun theatrical experience. I'm not the biggest fan of interpretive dance, but this show has changed my outlook on this form of theatre. The show is visually interesting with a perfect blend of dance and music that combine both dramatic and comedic elements. The shadow wall and effects were performed masterfully. But wait... there's more. Why waste your time with 3D movies when you can see Lemon Boots in 4D? That's right, I'm calling it 4D because you're not merely watching the show, you are an active participant in show, (if you want to be). The final is guaranteed to have completely out of your seat! Move over Cirque Du Soleil, LEMON BOOTS is a fringey, creative devised dance piece that's fun for audiences of all ages. This 16 person emsemble really knows how to move, and that's the fun of this piece, just getting to see what the actors will do with their bodies next. It's clear that these guys love theatre, love each other, and have committed to making a great piece of physical theatre. With a little more polish to this piece I would have "loved it" - as the show stands right now it lacks a clear story arc, and it relies too much on audience participation at the end to really "work". However, with some moments cut out of the show to hone in more on the arc, and with a costume designer on board to unify everyone in something that... full review

I was disappointed with this show. From the pictures and the description I had high hopes. This show seemed to be nothing more than a series of acting exercises strung together. As an actor, I say, great work! However, the work done in the classroom is a foundation to build on and get inspiration from, not something that necessarily should be shared with an audience. This performance felt masturbatory. The actors knew what was happening, and were having an experience, but the audience was alienated from that experience, not invited to share in it despite the attempts to the contrary.
