I loved the production design and musical numbers, especially having a live ensemble on stage backing the production. The two leads were particularly strong (not to detract from the also-capable supporting cast), and the choreography supported the storytelling.
What I didn't like
The final act denouement feels very slightly rushed – I think there needs to be one more musical number earlier for the villain to hint at his scheme (without spoiling the reveal).
My overall impression
Mona Lisa Missing! is a thoroughly enjoyable musical romp. With surprisingly heartfelt numbers, some really fun choreography, finely-honed vocal performances, a delicious villain practically twirling his mustache, and some very nifty set design to evoke its setting, this musical hits its entertaining target.
