When I went to see Mona Lisa Missing I was expecting to see
a “Fringe” show but what I saw instead was a Broadway Show.
It was polished, well executed musical with some lovely music
and great story telling through the book and lyrics by Steve Vlasak. The story was captivating and the characters were all delightful. The singers had strong, beautiful voices. Jordan Mullins (Lisa) was PHENOMENAL. In addition to a beautiful voice she had a sweetness and warmth that stood out and infused all her scenes with humanness and sincerity and was a perfect foil for the world weary Karl Decker played wonderfully by Chad Anderson. This is a VERY high quality musical that I feel is ready for Broadway or Off-Broadway! It's great to see something at such a high production value at Fringe--many people think Frings has low-budget or minimal type shows. MONA LISA MISSING is not this! Based on a true story, MONA LISA MISSING is a musical mystery and love story set in early 20th century France.
While the story may be a bit derivative and predictable at times, it was altogether a very enjoyable experience, with fun songs, beautiful set design, and a delightful and strong ensemble.
A couple of shout outs— the cop was so solid onstage, emanating a confidence in presence that did not go unnoticed. The operatic villain was great, I could listen to him sing all day. And to all of the lovely musicians—Brava! ...

Mona Lisa Missing! is a thoroughly enjoyable musical romp. With surprisingly heartfelt numbers, some really fun choreography, finely-honed vocal performances, a delicious villain practically twirling his mustache, and some very nifty set design to evoke its setting, this musical hits its entertaining target. ...
