What I liked

storytelling via mixed media, use of monologue, use of sensory engagement and smell with the spray, use of bubble machines, use of singing, audience engagement, and audience interview break <3

What I didn't like

some of the initial monologue could be broken up with more interactive elements, maybe even putting smell earlier, audience engagement a little earlier. the monologue is so powerful and important, so just embedding more audience connection moments earlier in the show would have been so appreciated. i felt like things really picked up when you ran into the audience to ask where people are from / what land they’re on.

My overall impression

you are such a rockstar so brilliant, i loved your show so much. i loved how you moved through storytelling modalities, and the bubble machines were such magic i couldn’t believe it watching how they popped into blurry energy orbs. in singing together, and in listening to you sing, and in sitting with the stories you told, i felt so transported and so with you. and so appreciated how despite being playful, gentle at times, you were still so clear in your messaging about the land we’re on, how we got here, and at what cost to who. i loved the smells. i wanted to stay and squeeze you and say hi, and i left because i couldn’t stop crying in thinking about all the things. thank you for creating such a portal of yourself and your family and of this land. i’ve been questioning how to translate what you shared and my experience of it into something actionable for myself… that in and of itself is a gift. i’ve been thinking so much about time and how to bring people into the experience of time… in how shifty it is how quick and slow and all around, how non linear time is… and you did just that. thank you for this offering <3 <3 <3
