Review by WESLIE LECHNER

What I liked

A gorgeous use of the coming-of-age story to explore how what we are told as children shapes us. I laughed, I cried, and I left more in love with humanity even with all its complications and legacies of cruelty. A much needed shot of hope in a sometimes dark world.

What I didn't like

More people could go see it.

My overall impression

Samantha Bowling has the unique ability to touch on deeply difficult and troubling topics without ever succumbing to cynicism. In fact, I always leave her shows feeling in awe of the stubbornness with which beauty, love, and light continue to exist in the world and with a renewed determination to seek them out and hold them close. A must see show by a can’t miss artist.
