What I liked
The acting, the surprises, the dialogue, the richness of emotion in the context of a fantastical story, the way it grew more fantastical as it went along.
What I didn't like
This doesn’t really answer the question and is not a criticism, but I do think it would be successful in an elegant remount with an even bigger stage and budget. I loved how simple and direct this production was, but a producer/theater should give this team more resources to do even more with it. Hope it happens. Good luck!
My overall impression
J. Holtham’s moving play is full of heart and longing, grounded characters and experiences and surprising fantasy. I’d like to see it again just to enjoy all the layers of meaning.
