The writing is tight, crisp, and fun. The big twist (yes, there is a big twist!) is perfectly executed. I’ve been a fan of J.’s work for a while, and this is one of his best yet. The chemistry between the actors is INCREDIBLE, and the intimacy direction is both steamy and realistic. (Even the simple staging of legs intertwined said so much more than words could.) Both actors are absolute powerhouses — you have to be, to carry a show with only two characters — and everything is directed so seamlessly and flawlessly.
What I didn't like
Sorry…at this time, I’ve got nothing. Maybe some minor trimming on some scenes? But I really enjoyed sharing the space with those two beautiful people and watching their relationship develop and change.
My overall impression
The Sphere of Fixed Stars in the Heavens is a beautiful slice of sci-fi romance that will move you in every sense of the word – to laughter, to emotion, maybe even to tears.
