The whole immersion of the play. Nothing over the top everything was done to support the story and make the character so amazingly believable.
What I didn't like
The incidental sounds sometimes just dropped in a little awkwardly, but it’s just a really small criticism because it did not take away from the mood and did add context.
My overall impression
The subtlety of this play is amazing! Everything fits and everything adds to the development of the story and character. The wordsmithing is done to just the right point and allows for you to really get invested in the character. The conversation is natural and you actual feel how real the character is. The directing is spot on and also subversively subtle. The sign of an amazing director is that you don’t see any directing. Everything was done to support the character and story. This play just seemed so real and I cared about the main character. Then their is the acting. A disclaimer I am a friend of Rachel Sorsa, but that does not distract from the fact she does an amazing job of just the right tone and gestures and she truly becomes the main character. The sign of her stunning acting is that it does not look like acting. All you see is a woman experiencing loss and trying to figure it all out. She stops becoming my friend Rachel and she becomes Pam for the whole show. I highly recommend this play. A lot of plays at the Pantages cost a lot more and have less entertainment than this small production! Good job to everyone involved in the production.
