The dialogue was fantastic throughout. Claire’s trauma was real and so relatable. (I’ve known multiple women who have experienced the same thing, but I’ve never seen such a thorough, realistic depiction of how that kind of trauma impacts your life moving forward. The performers were incredible. I loved the running gag of Norma having anachronistic interests/knowledge. I love the ending and Claire’s connection with her abuser’s child.
Really everything!
What I didn't like
Nothing stands out to me as not working, especially for an hour-long play. If you were to expand this into a full-length show, I’d be curious to know more about Claire and Hayden’s friendship and her status quo before Norma’s appearance.
My overall impression
Incredible show! DINOSAURS was alternatingly wacky and heart-wrenching, absurd and painfully real. The actors were phenomenal, and I loved all of the emo Easter eggs. Can’t wait to see what becomes of this beautiful show!
