The highlight of the show was the dynamic between Norma and Claire. By the time the characters reach the end of their road trip, you’ve completely forgotten all heaviness as you rock out along with them. The ending hit me very personally, and I found a lot of genuine catharsis in seeing characters who’d both been wronged recognize their bond not just in their shared source of pain but in their ability to find delight.
What I didn't like
I would love to see the workshop teased out to a full-length play. Claire, Trace, and Norma all felt like characters I wanted to watch struggle and change even further. This thing’s got lots of legs, even if the dinosaur is bipedal.
My overall impression
Dinosaurs’ titular dino and endearing lead Claire transform trauma and acceptance into a jukebox fiesta. Tinged with the bitter-sweet throughout as much it is filled with laughs, you’re not gonna wanna miss Dinosaurs.
