It was well-acted, and Misha’s performance brought a deep humanity to the conflict of family and personal relations when the government demands adherence to a false narrative.
The set was simple but provided enough variety to keep the story moving and allow for the characterization of the mother in an easy physical adjustment by the actor.
What I didn't like
Perhaps the piece could be expanded. I was curious to hear more. For example, How are families dealing with so many dead sons, husbands, and conscripts?
My overall impression
It was a frank and disturbing presentation of what the Russian population is dealing with in this genuine, dangerous war that they are not even allowed to discuss as “war”! One can readily relate to the powerlessness of a populace burdened by government censorship, lies, propaganda, and the cost of trying to reconcile reality within the confines of the repressive worldview.
