Beautifully directed and performed. The writing is both timely and timeless, incredibly funny and touching. You really feel for these characters.
The set design was excellent. Great use of the space!
A three-hander with a single location and no intermission? Regional theatres and universities should (and will) be all over this!
What I didn't like
The Hebrew pronunciation.
My overall impression
Heartfelt, and at times uncomfortable in the best way, Mikvah Girls is a provoking piece of theatre that applies to all generations. While its context and characters are very Jewish, the themes of love, fear, repressed sexuality and the complications of growing up in a closed community are widely accessible.
