I don’t tent to watch many live productions but Mikvah Girls is a must see. The performances were so compelling, I found myself LOLing and shedding a few tears. I was particular floored by Maya Knell’s performance, who flawlessly handles the darker subject material with grace. In addition, the chemistry between Sofia Joanna and Maya Knell is undeniable. Both gave a nuanced performance that left me moved as I made my way back home. Rachel Wender has a much smaller role here is in no way a small actor. She commands the stage in each scene she’s in. The show was a perfect balance of humor, heart, and Bruce. I highly recommend!...

This is by no exaggeration the best play I have seen this year. Mikvah Girls has utterly blown me away. The actors so skillfully bring to life such a touching, funny and impactful work of art. The script and story is absolutely brilliant - and it is through the two lead's performances that this play reaches another higher level. The performances are so funny and so emotionally gut-wrenching that I and the whole audience could not help but be enthralled. Sofia Joanna's performance in particular took my breath away both from laughter and such powerful scenes. ...

Wow, what a moving piece of theatre. I felt like I was at an off-broadway show, that’s how high caliber the acting, set design and writing were! Really resonant topic as well— I will be recommending this show to many of the queer and Jewish folks in my life (and anyone who has felt like some part of their existence is shameful and must be hidden!). Five stars. ...
