Awestruck— Mikvah Girls is the beautiful blend of humor and longing. The set is clever, watching everyone work within it was transfixing. The story was so abundantly tender. A must-see....

By far my favorite show I have seen at the Fringe this year. Every inch of this production is filled with love and care. The set design is stunning, especially impressive given the Fringe restrictions. Beautiful writing that felt so intimate and real, at times I felt I was intruding. Evidently directed with care, patience, and attention to detail - the tone is perfect, the piece feels like it is living and breathing with you. Not a bit of this production feels out of place, every element comes together perfectly to tell a truly stunning story....

This jumped straight to the top of my favorites from this year's festival. Not only is everyone on the artistic team clearly firing on all cylinders, but the production is constantly conjuring deep emotions that land with all the weight of a sledgehammer to the sternum . It's fun, it's romantic, it's moving, it's sexy, it's horrifying, it's joyous, it's all the colors of the emotional rainbow and maybe a few more that we don't have names for. Theatre at it's best, I am delighted to report....

Weissman beautifully depicts female intimacy in Mikvah Girls. As her protagonists explored their connectedness in menstrual cycle and mutual love of Bruce Springstein, the audience laughed, cried, and mourned in silence alongside the young women—so excruciatingly wise beyond their years and naive to a world beyond their own. Maya Knell and Sofia Joanna epitomize the strength of vulnerability in their portrayals of the two young women. Even the walk-ons were electrically funny....

I don’t tent to watch many live productions but Mikvah Girls is a must see. The performances were so compelling, I found myself LOLing and shedding a few tears. I was particular floored by Maya Knell’s performance, who flawlessly handles the darker subject material with grace. In addition, the chemistry between Sofia Joanna and Maya Knell is undeniable. Both gave a nuanced performance that left me moved as I made my way back home. Rachel Wender has a much smaller role here is in no way a small actor. She commands the stage in each scene she’s in. The show was a perfect balance of humor, heart, and Bruce. I highly recommend!...
