Set design , directing and placing the audience in the mess that is that apartment. You know the siblings have shared something no one has talked about. . .until today
What I didn't like
Some of the moments didn’t not need the heavy push they were given. The more screaming/ hysterical…the less believable some moments became. Down shift and stay in the deep truth of all that is coming to the surface. Trust the audience is with you
My overall impression
Edward Allen Baker is a favorite of mine since the 90’s. The actors in this show leaned headfirst into the emotional fray that is 100% Baker’s trademark. From the mess that is the setting of this emotional confrontation, to the “ no escape” size of the stage, the audience is all-in from minute one. Looking for more from this play write ? Find ROSEMARY WITH GINGER. More of the pithy, emotional writing that perfectly captures a time/ place most people never visit.
