This play succeeds in droves as a modern tale of social anxiety. BK Wong's performance is as credible as it gets, oozing sincerity and awkwardness while drawing her audience in to her train-of-though narrative of bad decisions.... full review

Brenda "BK" Wong's debut as the unlikely hero of her own story resonates with personal vulnerability, humor and a whole lot of positivity. Honored to see this first performance from a writer who I look forward to seeing back at fringe again soon.... full review

Intrusive Thoughts is such a raw and real representation of what it’s like growing up to believe that you’re inherently broken and messed up, what it’s like to want to go to sleep before you’ve really woken up to who you want to be. BK’s vulnerability and willingness to share her story from the depths of her darkest thoughts, conveyed in ways both heavy and humorous, take us on this healing journey in the mountains with her.... full review

I loved the raw, vulnerable honesty. All presented in a way I could relate to. I felt connected to Brenda and her journey as well as I found it relatable. She presented her story from her deeply personal point of vier and it worked. I loved this show and want to see more.... full review

Incredibly relatable story. Most people have experienced low self-esteem and a lot of us did resort to self-harm and ideations at some point and, even more disturbingly, a lot of us don't get the help we need until we're adults. It's a beautiful story with serious themes but its framed with tons of humor and Brenda does a great job of lowering the audiences defenses from the very beginning so they really feel like they're apart of the story. ... full review

The thought that kept running through my head as I was watching the show was how appreciative I was for Brenda’s completely raw approach to acting. It made the play far more compelling because she was truly just speaking right from her heart as opposed to giving an overly polished, overly rehearsed description of her mental health challenges. I really liked the device of having the intrusive thoughts be played by an actor, and it was funny whenever he would throw objects at her as she was trying to tell her story. I highly recommend this play because I think that you will have a very unique experience, and in many ways this felt like an anti-meta one-person show, and that is to be respected and appreciated. ... full review
