The thought that kept running through my head as I was watching the show was how appreciative I was for Brenda’s completely raw approach to acting. It made the play far more compelling because she was truly just speaking right from her heart as opposed to giving an overly polished, overly rehearsed description of her mental health challenges. I really liked the device of having the intrusive thoughts be played by an actor, and it was funny whenever he would throw objects at her as she was trying to tell her story. I highly recommend this play because I think that you will have a very unique experience, and in many ways this felt like an anti-meta one-person show, and that is to be respected and appreciated.
