I loved how well she was able to embody each character and create a definite distinction between them
What I didn't like
Nothing. I want to see it again!
My overall impression
My review:
This performance of Confessions of a Mulatto Love Child goes straight to the heart of the human experience. The relationship between a vibrant lioness of a single mother and her devoted daughter travels from one adventure to another told through the eyes of Bellina. We fall in love with her mother’s lust for life and determination to share it with her child. But with love comes heartbreak as we watch this beautiful and frustrating relationship between mother and daughter evolve into a role reversal when Bellina’s mother begins a decline into Alzheimer’s disease. It is heartwrenching as we watch Bellina loose her mother and watch her live our biggest fears of loosing ourselves in a society where age isn’t a gift but a detriment. There’s much sadness but wrapped in self deprecating humor and above all, love. Mother to child, child to mother and most importantly the love of life. Bellina is beyond brilliant as she tells her story that made me laugh till it hurt and cry feeling her fears of loosing her touchstone.
