One of the most dramatic, powerful, and moving one person shows I've ever seen. It will make you laugh and cry no matter where you're from, who you've loved or lost, or what you've lived through.... full review

Go see Confessions of a Mulatto Love Child! This show was magnificent—impeccably conceptualized, directed, and performed. As a writer-performer, Bellina Logan writes to her own strengths: engaging storytelling, disappearance into fully realized characterizations (many, many characters), and don't-f**k-with-me comic timing and chops. Her joy is our joy, her exhaustion is ours too; we share in her love as well as her grief. A very rare experience of a one-person show where the creator is sharing stories from her own life, yet manages to keep other characters at the center, avoiding self-mythologizing and sentimentality. Seriously great and unique.... full review

This show is a truly delightful night at the theater. Bellina is a true master storyteller. She invites the audience in and from the moment lights go up you feel safe in her hands as she tells you the heartbreaking, hysterical, and emotional journey of her life with her one-of-a-kind mother. To watch Bellina switch between multiple characters with ease is a marvel you must witness in person. ... full review

My review: This performance of Confessions of a Mulatto Love Child goes straight to the heart of the human experience. The relationship between a vibrant lioness of a single mother and her devoted daughter travels from one adventure to another told through the eyes of Bellina. We fall in love with her mother’s lust for life and determination to share it with her child. But with love comes heartbreak as we watch this beautiful and frustrating relationship between mother and daughter evolve into a role reversal when Bellina’s mother begins a decline into Alzheimer’s disease. It is heartwrenching as we watch Bellina loose her mother and watch her live our biggest fears of loosing ourselves in a society where age isn’t a gift but a detriment.... full review
