I was so impressed by how every actor got so many opportunities to display a wide range- nobody feels stagnant here, especially the characters you might initially assume could be. I also loved how this shoe dumps it’s audience back into high school by forcing them to articulate their opinions about art and defend them.
What I didn't like
I felt a little conflicted about the occasional 4th wall breaks. I don’t mean talking to the audience (that’s essential to this) but occasional ad-libs about this show being in fringe or votes being more fun if we close our eyes took me out of the world of the show just a bit. All in all had a great time though.
My overall impression
A sharp, satirical celebration of American theater. A brilliantly executed love letter to what makes this tradition so special.
