The audition participation felt quite reflective of the American Democratic system. All the audience had a say, but those in charge (i.e. the actors) made all the final votes and decisions… whether the we the jury liked it or not.
Excellent juxtaposition between the real world and the world of the plays within the play.
What I didn't like
Hard to say. I felt it was the right blend between audience participation and the show itself. Actors did a great job of keeping the audience (the jury) contained.
My overall impression
Set in the not so distance future, it highlights the importance of art and literature and what it could mean to the everyday student or scholar here in America and demonstrates how damaging censorship can be showing what a bleak world without art or plays could look like.
