What I liked

I liked the pacing of the show, how it moved through real quotes from the movie, to exasperated urgent-feeling scene settings descriptions, to heightened explanations of odd bits within the movie, phrased just right to highlight how silly this very serious fantasy movie is. I liked how much Riley used his one prop, the staff, to become horses and hiding places and weapons. I liked the lighting design and how much he moved around on stage. I liked that the shoe feet were never used.

What I didn't like

I am excited for part 3. I wish it was happening now. I am impatient.

My overall impression

You may think you know the Lord of the Rings the Fellowship of the Ring but you haven’t seen it laid out this hilariously and bluntly and chaotically before and you will be missing out if you don’t see it through Riley’s bearded Gandalf eyes. An absurd, delightfully dumb and revealingly odd look at what happens in this movie, scene by scene. The audience was in stitches and cackling the whole time it was such an experience. It made me want to see the movie for the first time again since it came out but maybe I actually just want to hear every movie told through Riley’s silly loud voice.
