I saw the first part of Riley Smith’s LOTR last Fringe season, and the one main critique I had was that the long descriptions would be best broken up by physical action. I feel like Riley did a better job of this in Part 2, as reflected by how much I laughed.
What I didn't like
The Gandalf beard. The Gandalf beard kept falling off. It was the first show, so I figure a better beard solution was worked out.
My overall impression
A thoroughly enjoyable interpretation of the Lord of the Rings, minus the scenery, large cast. and special effects. All of these are replaced by Riley Smith acting out the scenes, while doing an incredibly thorough and oftentimes hilarious job of describing the movie action.
