What I liked
Kelsey and her band are magnificent! She’s more than got the voice to cover such beloved songs, and the song selection both shows off her range and a lot of careful thought and reflection. Some of the songs are well known, others more personal favorites, and it creates a spectacular blend and bond with the audience, as do her emotional and frank stories about the moments that seared the songs into her heart.
What I didn't like
I loved this just as it is. All I would have liked to see is even more of it!
My overall impression
This show took me back 15 years before I could blink! This is one big jam of nostalgia and empathy for emo kids, and in addition to being a raucous ton of fun is also a great bit of story-telling. Kelsey is an open and inviting with the perfect amount of edge and self-awareness, and is an OUTSTANDING singer who has curated her setlist perfectly. Emo kids, don’t skip this!
