What I liked
O’Meara has a lovely stage presence, beautiful dialect work, and a total commitment to the bit. Her physical storytelling through specificity in movement is incredibly strong. Great game, terrific engagement of audience, and some truly ridiculous bits make this half hour show a delight.
What I didn't like
My biggest regret was that the grandmother story line/connecting thread wasn’t revealed until quite late in the performance. Had I been armed with that information earlier, I would have been emotionally invested. As it was, I was delighted by the vignettes but dismissed the bit as soon as the next one started.
My overall impression
A true-to-form vaudeville with clever setups, biting lyrics, bawdy slapstick, and audacious humor, performed exuberantly by Caroline O’Meara, channeling the ghost of her grandmother.
